Our story? Oh, it’s a good one. Once upon a time (okay, back in 1776), we were a coaching inn, perfectly perched near the beauty of Richmond park and the river Thames. Since then, we’ve been East Sheen’s go-to spot for families, friends, and yes—your furry pals too.

Here at the heart of East Sheen, we take pride in serving proper pub food done right. Think comforting classics, hearty portions, and the best of British ingredients, fresh, seasonal, and bursting with flavour. From memorable pub classics to hearty stews and pies, our chefs let the seasons guide the menu, using local produce wherever possible. Whether it’s a midweek treat, a family feast, or a Sunday gathering, every dish celebrates honest cooking and great taste.

When the evenings draw in and the chill sets in, there’s nothing better than the warmth of a community pub. Familiar faces, the quiet hum of conversation, and the comfort of a place that feels like home make winter evenings feel brighter. Our Winter Set Menu brings that same sense of comfort to your plate, with every dish prepared using seasonal, local British ingredients that celebrate the best of the season. From Monday to Friday, between 5th January and 27th February, you can indulge in two courses for £19 or three courses for £23. It’s a little treat to yourself in the heart of the place you know and love, reminding you that winter can feel just a little warmer when shared.

Our garden is the heart of the community, and not just when the sun’s shining. Spacious, welcoming and loved by locals, it’s a place where long lunches turn into relaxed afternoons and evenings drift by a little too easily.  Covered and heated with gorgeous, cosy garden huts (perfect for special occasions), we keeps the good times going in winter too. Whether you’re joining us for a casual drink, a family meal or one of our much-loved community events, the garden is ready for you all year round.

There’s something about rugby at ours that just feels right. Big matches, familiar faces, pints poured properly and plates of great British food coming out of the kitchen, it’s the kind of atmosphere that turns a game into an occasion. Throughout the Six Nations, we’ll be showing every match live across the pub, so whether you’re settling in with the family, meeting friends in the bar or gathering the group for a long afternoon of rugby, there’s always a good seat and a great view.
